SUMMARY

A Security Cleared, Agile Coach and Certified Scrum Professional at the Intellectual Property Office working with our IT experts and colleagues across the business in developing, planning and implementation of project delivery and supporting performance.

Working with Agile Methods for a number of years, I am a Certified Professional Scrum Master and have successfully introduced Scrum and Agile Practices within the organisation. I have more than 15 years’ experience of leading teams covering a spectrum of technologies, such as web based applications, VMWare, Windows roll-outs and data centre implementation. Experience of delivery to Government Digital Services (GDS) design standards.

Adopting the Agile Framework, I develop individual, team, project and portfolio performance in the context of enterprise business change, specifically in improving the speed and quality of product delivery. In the process, I coach teams and people across the organisation in the work they do while delivering concrete business benefits.

I'm the organisational go-to person, advisor and coach in agile implementation and am presently coaching two teams working on the customer & staff facing streams of a Patents transformational programme. Throughout 2014, I was the Scrum Master for a high profile Ministerial project delivering a web based, world first, Copyright Orphan Works Scheme. I'm presently working on a business transformational change project to modernise our patents services. I'm very active within the Intellectual Property Office in its transformation to an adaptive organisation working with colleagues from the Lean and Scrum communities. My role involves,but not restricted to the following: • Coach and mentor the Scrum Masters/teams and leading workshops on agile aspects. • Very active within the Intellectual Property Office in its transformation to an adaptive organisation working with colleagues from the Lean and Scrum communities to strengthen the presence of Agile and its benefits. Keep the rest of the company network aware of our activities. • Assess the Scrum Maturity of the organisation and teams, coaching individuals to achieve higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organisation. • Coach/Scrum Master for 1-2 Scrum teams, guiding them towards improving the way they work. • Facilitate sprint planning, retrospective, sprint demonstrations, coaching the Product Owner with keeping the backlog updated. • Ensure cross-team coordination and reaching out to the larger company network for impediment removal. • Maintain relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing, using visuals such as burn down charts and cumulative flow diagrams. • Liaise between the Developers and User Experience/Visual Designers. Foster better communication between the disciplines.

Line management responsibility for 30 plus IT technical staff. Development of resourcing plans for IT development and some support activities, identifying, assessing and managing risks to delivery. Introduced Scrum to the IT Department, ensuring individuals were trained in Agile techniques.
