HMRC Aspire EDH Programme In 2013, HMRC asked Capgemini to play a leading part in designing and implementing its vision of a new Enterprise Data Hub (EDH) utilizing open source software and commodity infrastructure. The new EDH will provide HMRC with the platform to fulfill its data analytics and digital ambitions, improve yield and productivity, and become the strategic primary data asset within HMRC. As the Scrum Master for the data analytics team, I introduced, trained and implemented Scrum and Agile techniques successfully to the programme and HMRC stakeholders. I am also the programme's Agile Coach: defining and supporting the implementation of the GDS model by driving development and defining its governance to the programme and wider organization for delivery of projects on the Data Platform (Hadoop, Cloudera). These projects have a national reach and potentially millions of pounds of benefit to HMRC. The Capgemini Digital Innovation Team's role is to learn, experiment and deliver innovative Web solutions using the best of new technology (such as Node.js, Angular.js, Zurb Foundation, Chef, Puppet). Through Kanban, and other Agile techniques, the team manages its own progress and deliverables across these objectives.

Race For Life organizes over 300 charity events each year in the UK, with over 800,000 participants and raises almost £50m annually. For most of 2012, I was responsible for the day-to-day management of the Race for life development team and how they used Scrum and other Agile techniques to turn user stories into deployed software. The team consisted of mature Java developers, testers, analysts plus contractors and new recruits. I helped the team by giving training, mentoring and guidance on the teamwork they needed to achieve project success. I also facilitated all agile meetings and took ownership of Jira and work item management. I reported to the project manager, development team manager and business stakeholders on the status and forecast of the team, including velocity, schedule, risks and issues. eg. highlighting when additional resource were needed. I also was central to recovering from a major impact to scope which completely changed the short term deliverable and skills profile. Even so, the team were able to deliver a high-quality product on time and on budget
